The South Carolina Historical Society and the Blue and Gray Education Society have joined forces to enhance the opportunities available to our members. The Blue and Gray Education Society is a nonprofit organization, based in Chatham, Virginia, that conducts historical tours and programs in the Revolutionary War, the War of 1812, the Mexican American War, the Civil War, World War I, and World War II. Tours are of high quality with first-rate historians who will entertain and educate tourgoers. Since its inception in 1994, the BGES has taken patrons to more than 400 different battlefields and countless historical facilities.
SCHS members may register for any Blue and Gray Education Society Tour at the BGES member rate. In addition, SCHS members who go on BGES tours will generate a donation for the Historical Society by attending the tour.
